Hanhikivi NPP (Fennovoima)
Fennovoima was founded in 2007 by a group of Finnish electricity consumers: industrial companies and energy utilities in need of safe, stable-priced and re-liable low carbon electricity generation. Fennovoima has two direct owners, Voimaosakeyhtiö SF and RAOS Voima.
The aim is to build a nuclear power plant, Hanhikivi , that will produce 1200 MW electricity output – is a significant contribution to the energy security of Finland and the entire EU.
The project is now in lincensing phase, the construction of the power plant will start in 2019 and commercial operation in 2024.
